Education
We help students complete their studies — so they can build their futures and give back to the Tibetan community.
The Tashi Pendey Foundation cares for Tibetan children, elders, and families in exile — upholding a heritage of compassion and wisdom.
Our Mission
Tibetan culture has at its heart the development and preservation of compassion and wisdom. Through education, that culture can flourish and be upheld — without it, we risk its fading.
Our foremost priority is the wellbeing and education of Tibetans, especially children — helping them grow into professionals who can, in turn, benefit the wider community. And we do this not out of pity, but out of kinship — because the experience of being alive is common to us all, and yet unique to each one of us.
Our Story
Venerable Dhondup Gyaltsen was happiest when he could make others happy — and he had a very soft heart.
Seeing young and old Tibetans struggle in India, he resolved to do something. He wanted to give them an education and ease their living. Whenever anyone needed help, he sprang into action without hesitation.
He founded the Tashi Pendey Foundation in 2005. With the kindness and support of sponsors, it has since helped countless families, elders, and their children — and continues to this day.
How We Help
We help students complete their studies — so they can build their futures and give back to the Tibetan community.
We stand beside low-income families, helping them meet daily needs and stay together through hardship.
We walk alongside elders and those who are unwell, helping with medical costs and the needs of daily life.
We support the work and mission of monasteries that keep Tibetan spiritual practice and learning alive.
Our Impact
Since 2005, with the generosity of our sponsors, this is the work your support makes possible.
Students complete their studies and step into independent, professional lives.
Families in need find support through hardship and stay together.
Elders and the unwell meet their medical costs and live with dignity.
Monasteries continue their work and mission within the community in exile.
Venerable Dhondup Gyaltsen could not stand to see others suffer — and would do anything he could to help.
